Overview of the Measuring NZ workstream
This research workstream focuses on measuring and evaluating the state of New Zealand, becoming a one-stop-shop of respected and reliable information and analysis on the state of the country. It produces robust information and analysis on the strengths and weaknesses of nation, with special attention to evaluating Democracy, Equality, Integrity, Environment and Wellbeing in New Zealand.
A key focus of the research will be on “policy beneficiaries” – an ongoing compendium of who has gained from government decisions.
Outputs scheduled:
We will be surveying former parliamentarians on their experiences of the political process, especially in terms of vested interests.
We will commission an annual public survey on trust in political institutions and authority.
We will commission regular public polling on specific issues related to the political process and vested interests.
Every January we will publish a report on the previous year regarding public and political integrity.
